Rachel Bsc BVSc CertAVP MRCVS

Rachel joined our Award Winning Hospital Team upon the opening of our 24hour emergency service. Having been qualified for over 10 years and graduating from Bristol University, Rachel has extensive experience in medicine with a further advanced qualification in this area of practice.

Whilst Rachel’s vast medicine knowledge is impressive she also achieves strong satisfaction from soft tissue surgery and enjoys the focus of dealing with emergency cases. Rachel strives to improve animal welfare at every opportunity.

Before moving to London to practice in 2017, Rachel enjoyed gaining much experience in large surgeries in Middlesex, Manchester and Liverpool.

Away from the surgeries Rachel enjoys travelling and volunteering with wildlife rescue.

Alan MVB MRCVS

Alan Sweeney Graduated in Ireland in 2016 and has worked in critical care since very early on in his career.  Alan has been a leading figure in providing emergency care in London since 2019 and has an incredible reputation for providing the very best all round after hours service.

Katy DVM MRCVS

Katy qualified in the USA as a vet in 2000. She relocated to the UK in 2022 and joined the 24 Hour Vetcare Team. Katy is an experienced night vet and brings her extensive experience and dedication to the pets of south London and surrounding areas.

Animals have always figured prominently in her life, mostly horses. She grew up riding in New Mexico, and carried that passion through her university years in Texas, where she attained a degree in Physics and worked briefly for NASA. On the whim suggestion of a colleague, she applied and was accepted into veterinary school in Colorado.

Her professional life took her to California, initially featuring Dairy and Equine medicine. She first started working on small animals for charity animal welfare organisations in 2006, but she continued occasionally vetting horses until 2021.

Gisella qualified in Italy and has been practising in the UK for over 5 years.  Gisella has undertaken many years of ECC roles and now focuses on advanced imaging both heart and abdonimal.

Gerald qualified in the UK over two years ago and started his journey learning many advanced procedures from our Lead Night Vet Alan. Jed has a passion for all things that encompass critical care with a passion for surgery. Jed is also competent in dealing with emergency medical cases.

Tania qualified in Portugal in 2014 and has advanced qualification in cardiology.  Tania has been in the UK practising for 5 years and has worked in day and night teams giving high level care and performing advanced ultrasound of both the abdomen and heart. Tania is also highly experienced in both routine and emergency surgery.

Mina MRCVS

After obtaining her first degree in Computer Software Management, it became clear to Mina that what she really wanted to do was work with animals, so she went back to University and graduated as a Veterinary Surgeon in 2017 from Aristotle University in Thessaloniki, Greece.

Mina began working in the UK in 2019 gaining a lot of valuable experience in Small Animal practice, which included overseeing everyday cases and out of hours emergency and critical care patients. Since joining the Mead team Mina has continued her impressive professional development by undertaking a Small Animal Surgery Certificate and Feline Medicine Certificate. As a valued member of our team Mina enjoys working up cases with her colleagues and exchanging clinical opinions on more complex cases. You can sometimes see Mina in our day service helping her team.

Although she doesn’t own a cat at present, she recently lost her beloved feline companion after 18 adventurous years, Mina loves taking care of cats and has made it her life goal to help as many as she can so they can live long and healthy lives.

Outside of the vet surgery Mina enjoys cooking for her friends and colleagues!

Sam MRCVS

After earning her Veterinary Medicine degree in Sicily, Sam made the move to the UK, where she has spent the last 6.5 years dedicating herself to the veterinary field. Sam has found her niche in Emergency and Critical Care (ECC), a realm of veterinary that she finds both challenging and immensely rewarding. Currently, she is diligently working towards obtaining her ECC Certificate, a testament to her commitment to advancing her skills and knowledge in this specialized area.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Sam holds a deep affection for her loyal companion, Alice, a 15-year-old dog who goes everywhere with her including work!  Outside of her veterinary work, Sam loves music, yoga, traveling, and of course travelling!

Gabriel RVN

His journey as a vet nurse started in 2012 when he joined the university at Instituto Politécnico de Viseu in Portugal. Starting his career in a small practice, he completed his degree in 2015. Initially, he spent over a year in a small practice before transitioning to a referral hospital, where he developed a special affection for the Emergency and Critical Care aspect of nursing.

In 2019, driven by his ambitions, he made the move to the UK to further develop his nursing skills. Since then, he has been working in a variety of settings, including first opinion practices and out-of-hours services.

As a nurse, his primary interests lie in emergencies, critical care, and surgeries.

Outside of work, his favorite hobbies include sports, music, and traveling.
